Apply to the EU Settlement Scheme

29-12-2020

Students who have EU status and have joined a UK school before 31st December 2020 and intend to continue their studies in the UK after Brexit, are required to fill in a settled/pre-settled status application.  This needs to be completed by 30th June 2021, however we advise parents to complete this form before Thursday 31st December.

Please find all information, including the online application form, here: https://www.gov.uk/settled-status-eu-citizens-families

There are three key elements to the application:

  1. Settlement applications can be completed by parents, acting on behalf of their child.
  2. Verification of your child’s ID can be done conveniently by downloading the EU Exit App.  A video is included here to help with this app https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGXwvq-fKyE&feature=youtu.be.   This official app will confirm ID using the app’s recognition software.  If it is unsuccessful, you can post the passport for manual verification.
  3. Completing the application will require proof of status / eligibility to study, and we recommend you use your latest school invoice/bill, or the original school acceptance letter when your place was confirmed.

Please note that any request of proof of legal guardian does NOT mean Study Links (we are the educational guardian only).   Legal guardian means the parent, or official ‘legal guardian’ appointed by a court of law to replace the parent.

You will be sent an email following completion of the application form, to confirm your application has been received.  You will then receive a further email when it is successful which you are required to send to your school for their records.
